Plans and usage limits

What Basic, Standard and Pro include, how the monthly message quota works, and what happens when you reach it.

What each plan includes

Matram has three self-serve plans. Every plan gives you the full dashboard: training, customisation, lead capture, chat history and the test playground. The differences are volume and extras.

  • Basic, $29 per month: 2,000 messages per month. The Basic plan includes 1 chatbot, 3 training sources and up to 500 trained pages, with monthly automatic re-sync of your sources.
  • Standard, $69 per month: 5,000 messages per month. The Standard plan includes 5 chatbots, 25 training sources and up to 2,500 trained pages, plus all chat channels, public REST API access, weekly automatic re-sync, and the option to remove the "Powered by Matram" branding with the paid remove-branding add-on.
  • Pro, $199 per month: 20,000 messages per month. The Pro plan includes 20 chatbots, 100 training sources and up to 10,000 trained pages, all chat channels, API access, daily automatic re-sync, and the remove-branding option.

On every plan you can invite your team from the Profile & Team page.

The chatbot, source and page numbers describe what each tier is sized for. The one limit that is enforced automatically is the monthly message quota.

Enterprise and the extra-messages add-on

If you need more than the Pro plan offers, there is an Enterprise tier. It has no public price; contact sales to talk it through.

If your plan fits but you run out of messages in busy months, add the extra-messages add-on instead of upgrading. It adds 5,000 messages per month on top of your plan's quota.

What happens at the message cap

Every reply your bot sends counts against the monthly quota, wherever it happens: the widget, connected channels and the API.

When the quota is used up, the bot stops answering on all of those surfaces at once. Visitors who message the widget see: "This assistant has reached its usage limit for now. Please try again later."

There are three ways to get the bot answering again:

  • Upgrade to a plan with a larger quota.
  • Add the extra-messages add-on (+5,000 messages per month).
  • Wait for your billing cycle to reset.

If your bot has gone quiet and you are not sure why, the message cap is the first thing to check. See why your bot is not answering for the full checklist.

Your billing cycle

The message quota resets on your billing date, not on the first of the calendar month. Your cycle is anchored to your billing date, so the counter resets on that same date each month.

How to upgrade

1. Open Billing & Usage from the main navigation. Only the workspace owner can see and manage billing.

2. Choose the plan you want, or the extra-messages add-on.

3. Complete payment in the Paddle checkout that opens over the page. Paddle act as the merchant of record, so their name is what appears on your statement.

You can start on Matram free, with no credit card. You only add payment details when you move to a paid plan.
