Widget appearance and behaviour

Where the controls live

Open your chatbot and go to the Appearance tab under Customizations. Almost everything visitors see in the widget is set here. Conversation starters and followups have their own tabs, covered below.

Look and feel

• Colors: pick the widget's colours to match your site.
• Position: bottom-right or bottom-left of the page.
• Avatar: the image shown for the bot.
• Icon size: small (48 px), medium (56 px), or large (64 px) launcher icon.
• Font size and chat height: adjust text size and how tall the chat window is.
• Tooltip: the short label shown next to the closed launcher icon.
• Input placeholder: the hint text in the message box.
• RTL: switch the layout to right-to-left for languages such as Arabic.

Agent identity, auto-open and proactive messages

Set an agent name and a reply time label so the chat header shows who is answering and how fast. Auto-open has separate settings for desktop and mobile: never, immediately, or after a delay.

Proactive messages reach out before the visitor opens the chat. You can set up to 5. They appear as dismissible toasts, along with an unread badge.

Starters, followups and attachments

Conversation starters are the suggested questions shown when the chat opens. Manage them on the Conversation Starters tab: you can save up to 12 and toggle each on or off, but the widget shows at most 6 at a time. Followup suggestions are managed on the Conversation Followups tab.

The attachments toggle adds a paperclip to the widget so visitors can send files up to 10 MB. Turn it off if you do not want to receive files.

About the "Powered by Matram" watermark

The watermark on the live widget is removed only through the paid remove-branding add-on. The Standard and Pro plans advertise branding removal. No Appearance setting removes the watermark from the live widget on its own.

When changes go live

Widget configuration is cached on a CDN. Changes you save propagate to live sites within about 60 seconds. If a change does not show after that, see Widget changes not showing.
