Paste to Markdown Converter
Copy formatted text from Word, Google Docs, Notion or a web page, paste it here, and get clean Markdown. It reads the formatting your clipboard already carries, so structure survives without you touching any HTML.

What this converter does
- Reads the rich-text version on your clipboard rather than the plain-text fallback, so formatting is not lost.
- Converts headings, bold, italic, links and lists into their Markdown equivalents.
- Drops fonts, colours, sizes and spacing, which Markdown has no way to express.
- Cleans up the wrapper markup that Word and Google Docs add to the clipboard.
How to use it
- 1Copy your formatted text. Select the content in Word, Google Docs, Notion or a browser and copy it normally.
- 2Paste into the box. Paste directly. The formatting comes across with the clipboard, so there is nothing to configure.
- 3Copy the Markdown out. Take the converted Markdown into your editor, repository or chatbot training sources.

If you are converting documents so a bot can read them, you can skip the step. matram.ai crawls your website, imports a sitemap, and reads PDF and DOCX uploads directly, then answers questions with a link to the page each answer came from.
