What this converter does

  • Reads the rich-text version on your clipboard rather than the plain-text fallback, so formatting is not lost.
  • Converts headings, bold, italic, links and lists into their Markdown equivalents.
  • Drops fonts, colours, sizes and spacing, which Markdown has no way to express.
  • Cleans up the wrapper markup that Word and Google Docs add to the clipboard.
